Create Land

“Welcome to Create Land! Paint, build monsters and make music.”

About this land

Create Land is the art room. Three of its games are pure free play with no levels at all — Paint Studio, Magic Colouring and Monster Maker — while Music Band, Colour Lab and Jigsaw Fun add gentle level ladders.

Paintings and coloured pages can be saved to an in-app gallery. They are stored only in the app’s private storage on the device, not in the phone’s photo library.

On iPhone and iPad, Paint Studio and Magic Colouring are free; the other games in this land are part of the one-time “Unlock all games” purchase. On Android every game is open.

Paint Studio

“Paint anything you like!”

Free playAges 3–7Free on iOS

How to play

Free painting on a paper canvas with nine tools: brush, crayon, rainbow brush, glitter, spray paint, stamps (16 pictures — animals, a cupcake, a star…), paint-bucket fill, eraser and pencil. There are 32 colours, each named aloud when picked, and three sizes.

What it teaches

Free creativity, colour names and fine motor control. Mirror and kaleidoscope modes turn every stroke symmetrical.

Winning and stars

There is no win and no level — just painting. Undo steps back up to 12 strokes, Clear needs two taps, and the camera button saves the picture to “My Gallery” (the newest 12 are shown). Saving earns a small bonus star, at most once a minute.

Levels

None — this is free play. There is nothing to finish and nothing to get wrong.

Tips for grown-ups

  • Try mirror or kaleidoscope together and talk about symmetry.
  • Save the favourites and look back through the gallery together.

Magic Colouring

“Fill the pictures with colour!”

10 pagesAges 3–7Free on iOS

How to play

Pick a colour, tap an area of the line drawing, and it fills in from the finger outwards. Ten pages to choose from: a house, fish, butterfly, flowers, rocket, owl, ice cream, car, cupcake and snail. There is glitter (12 colours), a rainbow fill, undo and a fresh-page button.

What it teaches

Choosing colours, colour names and accurate tapping.

Winning and stars

Colouring about three-quarters of a page counts as finished: three stars and “What a beautiful picture!”. Saved pages go into the same in-app gallery as Paint Studio, viewed from inside Paint Studio.

Levels

None — this is free play. There is nothing to finish and nothing to get wrong.

Tips for grown-ups

  • Ask why your child picked each colour.
  • A tap near a line fills the nearest area — slow, careful taps work best.

Monster Maker

“Build a silly monster!”

Free playAges 3–7iOS: in the unlock

How to play

Build a monster by tapping pictures in seven categories: body (6 shapes), colour (6), eyes (15 styles, and 1, 2, 3 or 5 of them), mouth (13), arms, legs and extras such as horns, antennae and eyebrows. “Surprise!” makes a random monster; “Ta-da!” makes it dance.

What it teaches

Creativity and making choices — and a little counting and colour vocabulary, because Ta-da describes the result (“Your green monster has three eyes and two arms!”).

Winning and stars

No win condition: every monster gets a silly name (“My name is Wobbly Bloop!”) and giggles when tapped. Ta-da gives a bonus star, at most every 45 seconds.

Levels

None — this is free play. There is nothing to finish and nothing to get wrong.

Tips for grown-ups

  • After Ta-da, count the eyes together and check the narrator got it right.
  • Stuck for ideas? Tap Surprise.

Music Band

“Make music with the animal band!”

8 levelsAges 3–7iOS: in the unlock

How to play

Three modes. Xylophone: eight rainbow bars (C to C) played by animals, with xylophone, piano, bell, guitar or flute sounds — slide across for a run of notes. Songs: tap the glowing bar to play a tune. Beat Maker: four drums over eight steps, three speeds and four ready-made beats that keep playing while you switch back to the xylophone.

What it teaches

Rhythm, simple melodies, listening and musical memory.

Winning and stars

The eight levels are the Songs mode. Finishing a song earns three stars and unlocks the next. Wrong notes make no error sound — the right bar wiggles instead, and in the echo games the parrot gives extra help after two misses.

The 8 levels

  1. Twinkle Twinkle
  2. Mary Had a Little Lamb
  3. Parrot echo (3 notes)
  4. Old MacDonald
  5. Echo (4 notes)
  6. Row Your Boat
  7. Happy Birthday
  8. Twinkle Twinkle from memory

Tips for grown-ups

  • Clap the echo tunes together before playing them.
  • Leave a beat running and let your child play the xylophone over it.

Colour Lab

“Mix colours like a scientist!”

10 levelsAges 3–7iOS: in the unlock

How to play

Tap paint bottles — red, yellow, blue and white — to pour up to three into a beaker and see the colour it makes (red and yellow make orange). In free mix there are eight shelf colours to discover; challenge mode sets tasks.

What it teaches

Colour mixing, making tints with white, predicting results and working backwards from a colour.

Winning and stars

Finding all eight shelf colours earns three stars and opens the challenges. In challenges, two wins move up a level; three stars for right first time, two after one retry. Discovered colours are remembered.

The 10 levels

  1. Make orange and green
  2. Add purple
  3. Light colours with white
  4. Three-colour mixes
  5. Make it lighter
  6. Predict the colour
  7. Colour detective: which colours made this?
  8. Trickier predictions
  9. Super detective
  10. Colour master: match by sight

Tips for grown-ups

  • Ask “What do you think will happen?” before pouring.
  • Say the mix aloud together: “blue and yellow make…”

Jigsaw Fun

“Put the puzzle pieces together!”

10 levelsAges 3–7iOS: in the unlock

How to play

A picture breaks into pieces in a tray; your child drags them back and they snap into place when close. A faint ghost image guides placement, and the finished scene comes alive.

What it teaches

Spatial reasoning, matching shapes and pictures, and patience.

Winning and stars

Two wins per level. Three stars for no wrong drops on the picture, two for up to two. The narrator names each finished scene (“You made the ocean!”).

The 10 levels

  1. 4 pieces: sunny meadow
  2. 6 pieces: ocean
  3. 9 pieces: farm
  4. 9 pieces: outer space (tray shuffled from here)
  5. 12 pieces: camp under the stars
  6. 12 pieces: savanna (ghost image partly hidden)
  7. 16 pieces: coral reef
  8. 16 pieces: candy land (pieces arrive tilted)
  9. 16 pieces: snowy north
  10. 16 pieces: rainbow sky

Tips for grown-ups

  • Start with the corners, then the edges — the built-in hints follow the same order.
