Letter Land

“Welcome to Letter Land! Learn your A B C.”

About this land

Letter Land covers the alphabet from first recognition to reading short words. Letters are spoken by name (“big A”, “little a”), every prompt is read aloud, and colour cues let pre-readers join in before they can read.

If you type your child’s name when the app first asks, two games use it: Letter Trail adds a level for tracing it, and level 8 of Sky Pilot spells it in the clouds.

On iPhone and iPad, Letter Trail and Bubble Pop ABC are free; the other games in this land are part of the one-time “Unlock all games” purchase. On Android every game is open.

LETTER LAND · 01

Letter Trail

“Trace the letters with your finger!”

10 + name levelsAges 3–7Free on iOS

How to play

Your child traces big letters on a chalkboard with a finger, starting at the green dot. A ladybug follows the finger and leaves a rainbow line; wandering too far off the path restarts that stroke. Small letters are traced on four-line handwriting paper.

What it teaches

Letter formation in school stroke order and direction, for capitals and small letters. Each letter ends with a word card (“A is for…”).

Winning and stars

Finish every letter in a group to unlock the next. Three stars with no restarts, two with up to two. A letter picker jumps to any unlocked letter, and finished letters show a star. On the name level: “You wrote your name!”

The 11 levels

  1. A–E
  2. F–J
  3. K–O
  4. P–T
  5. U–Z
  6. a–e
  7. f–j
  8. k–o
  9. p–t
  10. u–z
  11. My name (when a name is set, up to 8 letters)

Tips for grown-ups

  • Type your child’s name when the app first asks to unlock name tracing.
  • Encourage slow tracing — straying restarts the stroke.

Bubble Pop ABC

“Pop the bubbles with the right letter!”

10 levelsAges 3–7Free on iOS

How to play

Letter bubbles rise through the sea and your child pops the ones that match the card at the top. A wrong pop says which letter it was (“That’s X! Find…”) and the bubble floats away.

What it teaches

Letter recognition, matching big and little letters, and hearing the first sound of a word (level 7).

Winning and stars

Two wins per level. Three stars with no misses, two with up to two. From level 3 a golden bubble gives a bonus star; tapping the card repeats the prompt.

The 10 levels

  1. Big A–E
  2. Big A–M
  3. Big A–Z
  4. Little letters
  5. Find the little one
  6. Find the big one
  7. First sound from a picture
  8. Two letters at once
  9. Every big and little B
  10. Grand mix, faster

Tips for grown-ups

  • Say the letter aloud together before popping.
  • On level 7, stretch out the first sound of the picture word.

Animal Spelling

“Spell the animal names!”

10 levelsAges 3–7iOS: in the unlock

How to play

Your child drags letter tiles into the boxes under a picture. Each tile matches its box’s colour, so pre-readers can match by colour, and the tray only holds the letters still needed.

What it teaches

Spelling short words, first letters, and matching letters by shape and colour.

Winning and stars

Two wins per level; three stars with no mistakes. Letter names are spoken as tiles land, and the finished word is spelled out (“C, O, W… Cow!”). Tapping the animal plays its sound.

The 10 levels

  1. First letter
  2. Missing letter
  3. 3-letter words
  4. 4-letter words
  5. Colour only, no faint letter hints
  6. Things: sun, key, star, moon…
  7. 5 letters
  8. Little letters
  9. 6 letters: parrot, monkey…
  10. 7 letters: penguin, giraffe…

Tips for grown-ups

  • After each word, point to each letter together as it is read back.

LETTER LAND · 04

Sky Pilot

“Fly through the letter clouds!”

10 levelsAges 3–7iOS: in the unlock

How to play

A little plane follows the height of your child’s finger as it slides up and down — there is no gravity and no crashing. Fly through the cloud with the right letter or word; wrong clouds just puff away.

What it teaches

Alphabet order, small letters, spelling and reading simple words.

Winning and stars

Two wins per level; three stars with no misses. Every letter collected is spoken aloud. If no name was typed, level 8 uses your explorer’s name instead.

The 10 levels

  1. A–C
  2. A–F
  3. G–P (desert)
  4. Q–Z (snow)
  5. Little letters (autumn)
  6. 3-letter words (farm)
  7. 4-letter words (sunset)
  8. Your name, with golden rings
  9. Night flight, catching stars
  10. Reading whole words (rainbow tour)

Tips for grown-ups

  • Set your child’s name before level 8 (it is asked on first launch).
  • On level 10, read the words together.
